The Belleville Scottish Country Dancers

The Belleville Scottish country Dancers are a dedicated group of people who work hard to preserve the tradition, style and steps of the centuries old Scottish Country Dance. Under the direction of Bill Cunningham, the group performs at numerous events each year through out the Quinte area to demonstrate the many intricate steps. Unlike the traditional Highland Dances, such as the Highland Fling, Scottish Country Dances include of course the Gay Gordon’s, Strip the Willow, Strathspeys, jigs and reels, the ballroom dancing of Scotland.
As well, the group teaches the dancing once a month in Belleville and encourages others to join to carry on the tradition of Scottish country Dance, right here in the Quinte area.
